During the night of August 11-12, we will be performing channel maintenance that will affect our QAM tuner lineup. If you use a TV without a converter box or CableCARDTM you will need to rescan your TV on the morning of Wednesday, August 12 in order to receive channels.
Customers using TV sets with a converter box or CableCARDTM do not need to do anything.
Please take a few minutes now to review the scanning process for your TV set. Information on performing a channel scan can be found in the owner’s manual for your TV set. These changes will be made in the late night hours of August 11-12 so please do not perform a channel scan until after 7 AM on August 12. This is necessary for customers that use a TV without a converter box or CableCARDTM. We apologize for the inconvenience.
After these changes are made, some channel positions will change. Please download a new QAM tuner lineup.
MCTV is the only provider that allows viewers to use their TV set without some type of converter box. We also provide a channel lineup and on-screen channel labels. Other providers do not do this.
We made the decision to do this to allow our customers the option of not using a converter box. However, the downside to this is that, periodically, you will have to rescan your TV to receive channels. We limit the changes we make to keep rescanning to a minimum and have not required a rescan since August 2012. From time to time though, we must make changes. We have converter boxes of various types that will eliminate the need for future rescans.
For a limited time, customers can add an HD set-top box or DVR and receive the first 6 months free and receive ½ off installation. A set-top box provides you with an interactive channel guide, access to parental controls, access to On Demand movies and TV shows. It also eliminates the need for future channel rescans.
Offer expires 8/31/15 to current residential customers. Offer is for either a non-DVR HD set-top box or an HD-DVR. FUSION DVRs are excluded. Once the promotion has ended, regular rates apply.
