MCTV offers two home phone service packages to meet your calling needs. Our Home Phone service works like other landline phone services except that ours travels over our broadband network instead of phone lines. When you sign up for Home Phone service from MCTV, our professional installers will install a modem in your house that connects the phone lines in your house to our network so there’s no extra equipment you need to purchase.
It’s easy to switch and, in most cases, you can keep your current phone number! Our home phone service includes unlimited local calling and great calling features like call waiting, Caller ID, repeat dialing and more.

MCTV’s Phone service works with your existing phone wires, phones and wall jacks. MCTV will install a phone modem, or Multimedia Terminal Adaptor (eMTA), which is used to communicate with our network and is powered by plugging it into an electrical wall outlet. In the event of an electrical outage, your modem will not receive power, just like a cordless phone, lamp or any other electrically powered device in your home. In this case, your Phone service, as well as home monitoring, security alert services or medical services, like E911, will not be available.
You have the option to purchase a battery backup from MCTV that is designed to ensure that the unit will continue to work during a power outage, in accordance with telephone industry standards. As long as this battery backup unit is charged and functioning, your MCTV voice service will continue to work, but you may not be able to make calls, including 911 calls, if there is a prolonged power outage. MCTV Home Phone service is compatible with Safeguard security systems as well as many other types of security systems. Before installing Home Phone service, you must contact your home security provider in order to test the compatibility of your alarm system with our Phone service. MCTV is not responsible for the cost of conducting any tests or configuring an alarm monitoring system other than Safeguard.
Prices are on a monthly basis and exclude applicable taxes, fees, equipment, installation and any other one-time charges including international calls, collect calls or 411 (information) calls that may be placed by the customer. A credit check and deposit may be required. Taxes are approximately $5/month for Phone service and include state and local tax and a Federal Excise Tax of 8% of your Phone bill.
A $10/month Cable Access Fee will be applied to subscribers who have Phone service ONLY or 10 Mbps Internet and Unlimited Local Home Phone.
The plans described on this page is offered and provided as a residential service offered for reasonable personal, non-commercial use. Home Phone plans may not be used for any enterprise purpose whether or not the enterprise is directed toward making a profit, including but not limited to, telemarketing, call center services, medical transcription or facsimile broadcasting. MCTV reserves the right to disconnect upon notice any usage that is deemed to be business use. Commercial Phone plans are available from MCTV here.
Unlimited local calling includes all calls in the 330 and 234 area codes where you do not have to dial a “1” first. Subscribers to Unlimited Local with Long Distance Phone plans will be notified when long distance usage is exceeded. We reserve the right to levy additional charges for excessive long distance usage. Long distance usage and charges apply to secondary phone lines.
Federal regulations require that we verify certain phone account information in order to set up Phone. Please have a current phone bill available when you call to set up Phone service with MCTV.
Modifying, cancelling service, disconnection or non-payment may result in different pricing. Other restrictions may apply. Prices are subject to change.
