Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, the Advertising Sales Representative has primary responsibility to:
- Search and locate potential advertising clients.
- Promote MCTV as a viable advertising product.
- Sell cable television advertising to local businesses through direct contact with businesses and agencies.
- Travel within the MCTV service area, mainly during normal business hours.
- Establish and maintain long-lasting relationships with advertisers and ad agencies in-person and via phone.
- Assist in creating television commercial schedules for clients.
- Provide copy instructions for client schedules.
- Utilize Griffin Media Research to create advertisement schedules.
- Create contracts using AdSails CRM program.
- Demonstrate excellent creative writing skills to create commercials.
- Discuss the basic components of TV production used when creating commercials.
The Advertising Sales Representative must successfully utilize the following tools/equipment in order to complete their responsibilities:
- Maintain dexterity, vision and coordination, sufficient to perform essential functions.
- Use of PC, telephone, copy machine/scanner, fax and basic office equipment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, 6-8 hours/day.
- Ability to bend, lift and carry files, boxes or other objects up to 20 lbs.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience using CRM software and/or ad scheduling software.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have 3 years of work experience in Media Sales. Marketing, advertising and commercial creation experience is a plus.
- Must successfully complete background check and drug test.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related degree is beneficial, but not required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with customers and co-workers.
